This exhibition is an attempt to explore not only the past of Lithuania, but also the past of European countries through the history of one corner of the country.
The oppression of totalitarian regimes has become a common scourge of the old continent in the 20th century. Reflecting on this topic, questions constantly arise as to why there is a certain divide between the East and the West of the continent, why the totalitarian Soviet oppression has not yet been properly appreciated by ourselves and by our colleagues in the West?
These are the questions that the Museum of Regional History of Utena is trying to answer with the help of the material collected in its funds.
