The main aim of the study programme is to train a specialist in work safety and environmental engineering who knows engineering sciences, meets the needs of the labour market, can think creatively, observe, evaluate and solve problems of work safety and environmental pollution, be interested in innovations of the technology science and to apply them to improve work safety, environmental protection and the quality of human life.
Graduates of the study programme achieve the following learning outcomes:
- Knowledge, its application
1.1. Applies the regularities of general sciences to solve work safety and environmental engineering problems.
1.2. Applies the clean production principles and basic prevention measures in practice.
1.3. Has basic legal knowledge relevant to work and environmental safety.
- Research skills
2.1. Is able to find legal, technical and scientific sources of information relevant to work safety and environmental engineering activities, to independently select/apply technological, organizational and methodological measures.
2.2. Is able to carry out the necessary research, process its data and conclude on work safety and environmental measures.
- Special abilities
3.1. Is able to plan, organize, execute and evaluate work safety in the company.
3.2. Is able to solve environmental problems by choosing technologies that solve air, sewage, soil pollution and waste management problems.
- Social skills
4.1. Is able to interact with the engineering community, environmental and work safety specialists and the public in solving work safety and the issues of environmental activity.
4.2. Is able to take responsibility for the quality of his/her own and his/her subordinates' work by following professional ethics and citizenship.

5.1. Is able to maintain professional competence through lifelong learning.
5.2. Is able to think creatively and critically, individually and as a team, in solving work safety and environmental challenges.
