Admission steps

EU/ EEA students

Holders of foreign qualifications can be accepted to the state-funded study places in Lithuanian higher education institutions or claim for scholarships following the procedures established by the applicable legislation in cases if they are citizens of or other member countries of the European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA) and their family members or holders of foreign qualifications.

Diaspora

Holders of foreign qualifications can be accepted to state-funded study places in Lithuanian higher education institutions or claim scholarships in accordance with the procedures established by the applicable legislation if they are Lithuanian nationals residing abroad, or have resided abroad.

Non-EU students

Foreigners and stateless persons who have the right to live permanently or temporarily in the Republic of Lithuania, who have obtained secondary education according to the Lithuanian secondary education program and are studying according to the short, first-cycle or integrated study program, have the right to apply for a state-financed study place.

Foreign nationals and stateless persons who do not belong to the groups listed above are accepted to study at Utenos kolegija Higher Education Institution with their own funds (non-state-funded places).

Admission dates and procedures

Decisions regarding foreigners' admission to the chosen study program are made within 10 (ten) working days after the deadline. Applicants are informed by email about decisions made.

The following documents are being sent together with the decision:

  • Letter of study offer (in English)
  • Learning agreement, with defined mutual rights and commitments of the student and the institution. A signed learning agreement and the receipt of the paid tuition fee must be returned within ten working days (scanned documents are accepted).

To study in Lithuania, you need:

 

A Temporary Residence Permit is a document granting a foreigner the right to temporarily reside in the Republic of Lithuania for a period specified in the permit. You must apply for a National visa (D) before you come to Lithuania and for a Temporary Residence Permit after you arrive.

You can apply for the visa at a visa centre or the embassy of the Republic of Lithuania. If there is no legal representation of the Republic of Lithuania in your country, you will have to travel elsewhere, where the Republic of Lithuania is legally represented (http://studyin.lt/faq/).

After the signed learning agreement, admission fee and other required documents are received, the number of mediation letters for Visa or TRP, which are uploaded to the information system (MIGRIS) service portal, are sent by e-mail.

Foreigners coming to study have to take care of all the documents necessary for the trip and living in the Republic of Lithuania by themselves (passport, temporary or permanent residence permit in Lithuania, health insurance, travel formalities, etc.)
